In addition, we will start a process to advocate for your area getting attention by the Broadband Council and the installation companies that will do the work. We are a nonprofit advocacy group and doing this to help homeowners in West Virginia. There are no charges or costs for this effort on your behalf.

I have no internet available at my house other than hotspots – Greenwood acres in Hedgesville near Camp Tomahawk.

Address is listed as being a targeted address. The County IT folks make it seem like the process will take years before we see any improvement in our terrible DSL service. I can see the Comcast circuit at the top of the hill but Comcast wants to charge in the neighborhood of $6,000 to install – claim I have to pay to replace the ancient utility poles.

I have lousy internet service with Frontier (and also terrible cell service) and no real options that I know about.

Per speedtest.net 1/29/23:

2.83mbps down, 0.24 up

These are typical speeds as long as we’ve had Frontier DSL having tested many times over 15+ years, rarely exceeded and even then only by a hair or two.

Unpleasant to watch live events due to pixelation. Normal TV frequently hangs. Sharing photos, updating apps or OS is agonizing. Reminiscent of old-time dial-up. For the cost there is very little value.

just a couple miles outside of Shepherdstown, (which has high-speed, Comcast Internet). But we’re still stuck with DSL from frontier. satellite dish don’t work where we currently live due to the amount of tree cover, (which I am not cutting trees to find signal)so any help would be great.

We don’t have an exact address yet, but we are VERY interested in high speed internet! Life-long resident of Jefferson Co, currently on Melvin Rd. Suffered with frontier and satellite at our current address for years.

Our satellite service is expensive and unreliable. Oten does not function for streaming or video conferencing which makes it impossible to work from home.

We live off River Road in a development called Potomac Ridge with 10 houses. We have Frontier but it is very slow. We want to be included in the upgrade to Comcast. Our address is 10 Valentine Court, Shepherdstown, 25443

We’re stuck with 12Mb as a top speed, and it’s been this way for years, despite pleas to Frontier to upgrade.

Any chance internet is coming to Riverside in Jefferson County? We have lived in our home for 11 years without stable internet. The only internet we can receive is satellite or cellular. Frontier and Comcast refuse to connect many of us in the neighborhood.

Only three homes isolated that need broadband, and Comcast is on both sides, but refuses to make hook ups.

There are 12 homes along Rawhide Lane and Emerald Heights Ct that are not wired for high speed internet.
